Shaygan holds a Ph.D., masters, and bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. Shaygan began his career at GTE Corporation. Due to his remarkable performance and sound leadership ability, he was appointed as the head of a division after GTE and Bell Atlantic merged and formed Verizon Networks.

After leaving Verizon Networks, he served as a chief operating officer at Barclays Bank. Along with his team, Shaygan played a critical role in facilitating the bank to make its first step to greatness through the development of Pingin Mobile software. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Networks, where he played a fundamental role in creating operation plan that was designed to target Cloud Builder and High-IQ networking markets. Before his appointment as the CEO of Coriant, Shaygan was working closely with Coriant senior management team as operation partner of Marlin Equity Partners.

Coriant has won trust and admiration of international carriers that include China Unicom, TSIC, BSNL, and Australia’s NBN. However, the Coriant operates in a very competitive industry. In fact, Shaygan appointment comes as a strategic plan to improve sales of Coriant products and strengthen the company position in global markets. Shaygan is also expected to improve cloud system build outs and hyper-scale data points.
