There was a grand celebration at the OSI group McDonalds Food Solutions UK after it was recognized as the best company in the year 2016 with exemplary management of environmental risks. The British Safety Council sponsored the awarding program. The crowning event took place at the Drapers’ Hall in the capital of UK on 25th Nov 2016.
OSI group McDonalds was among the 18 organizations presented with prestigious Globe of Honour Award, which is typically awarded to companies and industries with exemplary environmental management protocols. For any organization to be nominated for the competition, first it should have attained a consistent five-star rating from the British Safety Council’s environmental audit team for a period of not less than for months. They should also demonstrate and convince an independent panel of experts that they are excellent in their environmental management throughout the business – from the production site to marketing.
The OSI Food Production branch in the UK is situated in Scunthorpe, and it has been operational since1989. The firm majorly specializes in the production of beef and pork products both on the wholesale and retail program to the restaurant industries. The company also won the Globe of Honour in 2013 and 2015.
The Purchase of Baho Food
On its attempt of increasing service delivery, OSI group McDonalds has recently reported its new acquisition of Baho Food, a company that specializes in the production of meat and other food products for local and international markets.
Baho Food has primary operations industries in the Netherlands and Germany; however, it has other several subsidiary companies in Bakx Foods, Gelderland Frischwaren, Henri Van de Bilt, Q Smart Life, and Vital Convenience. These firms have over six decades in the market, selling a variety of deli meats, fast meals, and snacks, as well as marketing links in over 18 European countries.
Following the recent purchase of a private Dutch company, Baho Food, OSI group McDonalds executive team went ahead and announced its another purchase of a Chicago based foods plant formally known as Tyson Foods Industry.
